I like the spontaneity of the Lyft, in the sense of just being able to call exactly when they are ready to take one either way. The shuttle option that sounds good (because of the curbside pick up) is PrimeTime and it’s about $132 +/- each way 4 suitcase and quite a few carry ons.ĭo Lyft XLs have room for luggage usually? I answered immediately and off she went never to return again. Someone named Anna asked me what app I had downloaded. I contacted customer support, waited for 3 minutes. There is no way to change the pick up location. That’s exactly what is happening in my case and the app is mistakingly reading my location as the end house on the street behind the wall at the end of my property. The back of the property may very well be at the end of another street separated by a wall. In our area properties often run perpendicular to the street, so a house with the address of 125 Main St very often is behind the house facing the street with the address of 123, or a row of townhouses beginning with 117 and ending in the back of the property with 125. The app has a GPS attached which automatically inserts your location as the pick up address. I intend to look for another company for my future trips, or rely on one of the ride-share companies. One bad driver can really hurt the reputation of a good company. I can understand how challenging it can be to find reliable help for that hour of the morning. Both reservations that week were for 4am pickup. A few days later, I received a call and email after I went to bed to tell me they had to cancel my reservation for the next morning - I saw the messages when I awoke the next morning, making it challenging to find an alternative on short notice. The dispatcher tried for about half an hour trying to get me a driver before I resorted to a ride-share for my ride to the San Diego airport. My app showed a map but not the location of my driver. Despite text and email confirmations within two hours of my paid pickup time, I received a call from the dispatcher one minute before pickup asking if I heard from the driver. I booked two more times in Sep 2019, both online (not this app), and no driver showed. I chose this company because Super Shuttle (my standard option for years) did not have an economical rides available. I booked online the first time and had a great driver and a great ride. I’ll be very hesitant to use Prime Time again. There needs to be an alternative to Uber and Lyft. The cost was very competitive-especially since UBER/LYFT are gouging the rider and shorting the driver. ![]() It’s a shame- the drivers who work for Prime Time that we spoke with who were waiting to pick up other riders were very nice and helpful. And considering how poorly designed LAX’s pick up system is, there is no surprise that there are issues in the airport - save for taxi cabs. They did cancel our reservation very quickly and refunded us. After multiple requests to just wait we found another ride home. The apps chat function customer service could not tell us more than to wait- no follow up. The driver for our return trip from airport, cancel without contacting us, 10 minutes before arrival. The reliability of car pick up and customer support are horrible.ĭriver for ride to airport was 25 minutes early, called to find out where we were, if we were ready, and why we weren’t ready.
